Baroness (Nicky) Morgan joins Grayling Advisory Board

We are delighted to announce that Baroness (Nicky) Morgan has been appointed to Grayling’s UK Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board’s purpose is to bring experience and strategic insight to both the business itself as well as providing senior counsel to clients in order to create advantage.

Nicky Morgan has held powerful positions and high office in both Government and Parliament, most recently as Secretary of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport. Prior to that she was a Government Whip during the Coalition and held senior ministerial roles at HM Treasury before becoming Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities (2014 to 2016). She was also the first, and to date only, female chair of the Treasury Select Committee. Following her elevation to the House of Lords earlier this year, Nicky was appointed to the Lords’ all party Committee on Covid-19, which was set up to consider the long-term implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economic and social wellbeing of the United Kingdom.

Before entering Parliament in 2010, Nicky specialised in corporate law advising a range of private and public companies from 1996 to 2010.

“We are delighted that Nicky has joined our UK Advisory Board where she will join other senior consultants with extensive experience in the worlds of politics, international trade, journalism and business,” says Richard Jukes, Global Chairman of Grayling.

“As the world tackles the new challenges caused by the pandemic it has never been more important for consultancies to be able to provide our clients with senior, seasoned advice and counsel. Not only does Nicky bring enormous experience from her time in Government and as Chair of the Treasury Select Committee, she also has a substantial commercial hinterland and perspective which will be of enormous value to clients and colleagues alike.”

Baroness Morgan says, “The issues that face businesses and other organisations as we emerge from the pandemic will be complex and challenging and I am delighted to be joining the Grayling Advisory Board to work with the business and its clients to help find ways of solving problems and identifying, and leveraging, opportunities where they arise.

“I initially knew Grayling from their public affairs work, but it is their broader Corporate Affairs offer which will be my focus and where my experience in both the private and public sector will hopefully bring additional value to the business.”
