Grayling Brussels bolsters its communications capabilities with the appointment of Habib Msallem as Senior Manager

Grayling has announced the appointment of Habib Msallem as new Senior Manager for Communications in Brussels. Habib’s skillset as reporter, editor, copywriter, and community manager will complement the team’s policy expertise to help Grayling’s clients have their voice heard by EU policymakers.

Habib has worked at the nexus of policy and communications in Brussels for several years and joins Grayling from GESAC, which represents European creators, where he successfully coordinated European-wide campaigns on copyright and related issues. He previously worked at Amfori, the global business association for open and sustainable trade, where he supported their marketing and rebranding efforts.

Before Brussels, Habib worked in journalism, as a sub-editor at The Sunday Times of London and a freelance reporter for different media outlets in various countries, in particular Brazil, where he followed up his UK degree in Journalism with further studies in Anthropology and Political Science.

Russell Patten, CEO of Grayling in Belgium, said: “Habib is a brilliant addition to our Brussels team and clients, who increasingly recognise the need to integrate creative communications and PR tactics to our advocacy campaigns. His strong experience with the Brussels press corps and an acute appreciation for communications in a policy context are exactly what’s needed to bring our clients’ campaigns to the next level.”

Habib Msallem added: “I’m excited to join a rapidly expanding Grayling team just before the busy Autumn period gets going. I look forward to adding my own touch to Grayling’s multi-dimensional offering and providing clients with something different to what they’re used to when it comes to comms in Brussels.”
