Transforming Mentorship: Grayling UK and Global Purpose Enterprise (GPE) Collaborate

In a dynamic move towards fostering inclusivity and mentorship within the communications industry, Grayling UK proudly announces its partnership with Global Purpose Enterprise (GPE), a pioneering organisation dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through mentorship initiatives. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing career opportunities for marginalised individuals within the public relations sector.

Ensuring progress with PRGRSS

GPE’s ambitious goal is to impact one million young Black and underrepresented individuals over the next five years through their groundbreaking mentoring app, PRGRSS. This innovative platform connects mentees with mentors via 12-minute video calls, revolutionising the mentorship experience. Described as the ‘Tinder’ of mentoring, PRGRSS provides invaluable guidance and support for navigating career paths, while also offering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation to enhance professional credentials and expertise.

Empowering underrepresented voices

As one of the founding corporate partners for the PRGRSS app, Grayling UK commits to promoting mentorship within the PR industry, amplifying underrepresented voices, and giving back to the community. Shockingly, statistics reveal that 83% of young Black individuals lack access to mentors, despite 100% desiring mentorship. PRGRSS serves as an accessible gateway to empower the next generation of PR and communications professionals. Talent is not limited by background or circumstance.

Furthermore, PRGRSS functions as a centralised hub for industry professionals to access educational resources, participate in training sessions, and engage in meaningful discussions. Grayling UK commits to participating in speed mentoring events facilitated by the platform, further enriching the mentorship experience for all involved.

A shared vision for change

Renowned social entrepreneur André Spence, founder of GPE, will bring his decade-long experience in the entertainment industry and his fervent dedication to empowering young Black individuals to Grayling UK’s advisory board as a strategic advisor. His insights and guidance will be invaluable in steering the partnership towards its goals.

“We are thrilled to partner with Global Purpose Enterprise to launch the PRGRSS app,” stated Heather Blundell, UK CEO at Grayling. “Through this collaboration, we commit to equipping PR professionals with the tools and resources necessary to drive positive change and foster a more inclusive and empowered workforce within the industry. I am excited about André joining our advisory board and looking to him for both challenge and inspiration.”

Heather Blundell and André Spence will also share their insights on a panel at Advertising Week in May, where they will address the significance of mentorship and equitable inclusion within the industry.

Together, Grayling UK and Global Purpose Enterprise are poised to make a profound impact on the lives of underserved young Black individuals, ensuring that talent and opportunity are not bound by circumstance, but rather by determination and support.
