{"id":77446,"date":"2025-07-30T10:54:32","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T09:54:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grayling.com\/?p=77446"},"modified":"2025-07-30T10:54:59","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T09:54:59","slug":"meet-the-mentor-amelia-elson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grayling.com\/de\/news-and-views\/meet-the-mentor-amelia-elson\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet the Mentors: Amelia Elson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Through our \u2018Break the Wall\u2019 mentorship programme with our social mobility partner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.creativementornetwork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Creative Mentor Network<\/a>, we\u2019re connecting young creatives from underrepresented backgrounds with industry mentors like Amelia Elson, account executive at <a href=\"https:\/\/grayling.com\/uk\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grayling UK<\/a> &#8211; and the impact goes both ways.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc40 Read Amelia\u2019s short Q&amp;A (just 5 questions) on getting started, the experience so far, and her standout moments.<\/p>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5><strong>What initially drew you to become a mentor with Creative Mentor Network? <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><i>I&#8217;ve benefitted from some incredible mentors across my career so far who&#8217;ve really given me the time and empathy to help me figure out my goals and passions so I know how valuable it&#8217;s been for me and felt I could give back a bit of that or at least use the skills they taught me.<\/i><\/p>\n<h5><strong>How would you describe your mentoring experience so far in three words? <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><i>Thoughtful, creative, learning<\/i><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What has surprised\/challenged you about the mentoring process?<\/strong><i> <\/i><\/h5>\n<p><i>I&#8217;d say I&#8217;ve been challenged to think outside of the box in more ways that one. <span data-teams=\"true\">As my mentee is at the super early stages of her career, we just really chat about her potential career interests and how to make the most out of her time at uni so she&#8217;s got skills ready for a career in her chosen field (whatever that may be).
